For teens who suffer from autism, ADHD, anxiety, or depression and want help making friends, learn about the PEERS Program.

 

The PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) Program is a 14-session evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens who are interested in learning strategies to help them make and keep friends. This program has strong evidence-based research with autism spectrum disorders but is also appropriate for teens with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and other socioemotional problems.

Amy Dunlap is a licensed and skilled therapist, certified in the evidence-based PEERS® Social Skills Training Program.

PEERS Group Participation requirements:

  • Teens in middle school or high school (age 12-19 years old) having difficulties making and keeping friends.
  • Parent attendance and participation.
  • Teens agree to participate voluntarily and interested in attending the program.
  • During each group session, explicit instruction in needed social skills are taught and opportunities to practice are provided. At the same time, parents attend separate sessions and are taught how to support their teens in making and keeping friends by helping to expand their teen’s social network and providing feedback via coaching during weekly social homework.

2. Enrollment Packet

Receive and complete an enrollment packet.

3. Intake Appointment

Parent and child attend a 1-hour intake appointment in order to determine if our program is appropriate for you and your child.
